The Mineralogical Society of Northeastern Pennsylvania (MSNEPA) is 50 years old. MSNEPA, started by an avid group of Rockhounds, held our Charter Meeting on November 25, 1973. Our Society is a non-profit educational organization. Our goal is to promote the study & appreciation of the Earth Sciences & Lapidary Arts. Members range in age from youngsters to senior citizens & encompass all levels of expertise in a multitude of diverse disciplines.
Our Meetings are held the last Sunday of each month, for the months of September through May. The Board Meeting is 12:30 pm & the General Meeting is 1:00 pm.

Our new headquarters is the Seton Catholic High School, 37 Williams St, Pittston, PA. 18640 ( Conference Room)
Throughout the summer we plan Field Trips. Sometimes we visit a Museum or take a hike to collect Gems & Minerals.

Our Annual Club Picnic is held in July at the Francis Slocum State Park, Wyoming, PA, under the shelter of Pavilion #1. This year it will be July 16, 2023 All members are invited to attend as well as people who may be interested in joining our group. Attendees are asked to bring a covered dish as well as their own beverages.
In December we have our Annual Christmas Party, usually very well attended as we all love to eat! Members & their Families are all welcome to attend.
